The social attitude towards the rape victims were the subject of the case. History reveals a fashion of discrimination against women due to the male dominance in the society. It is indeed ironic to understand that we stand for their empowerment in one way and humiliate and shun away when they should be supported as a victim. They become the outcast even for their dear ones. This is one of the reason for non-reporting of the sexual assault cases. In the name of cross examination, unbearable questions and character assassination takes up the major part of the trial which are even the deepest wound one could have.
The milestone achieved by the case in this regard is the non-exposure of the victim identity in sexual offences. Women should be treated with respect. So as the case with the victims who should be supported, amidst the agony they faced.
